Charles C. Patton

Charles C. Patton was born in Atlanta, GA, however, he was raised in Charlotte, NC with roots laid in Sumter, SC. Charles is the youngest son of Clinton Patton Jr. & Parisia Clyburn-Patton. From an early age, he expressed interest in sports, service, the arts, politics, and science (specifically medicinal practices). Playing basketball from the age of six, Charles was able to travel the country through his parents’ non-profit organization Children Come 1st.

It was through his service with Children Come 1st that he first began to see the beauty of giving back to and outside of the community. Participating in multiple community outreach programs, designed mainly for children through basketball, Charles began to develop a passion for service and explored other areas in which he could influence those around him. Charles’ service continued through his early years as the Sophomore Class President while attending East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, and later as the Senior Class President while attending Sumter High School in Sumter, SC where he would graduate as an IB Diploma Recipient.

He later attended Morehouse College on an athletic scholarship in basketball and academic scholarship as an Oprah Winfrey New Generation scholar. It was at Morehouse that he continued his pledge for service as the Honors College Liaison and later Interim President of Safe Space (now Morehouse ADODI). However, he would later transfer to South Carolina State University his sophomore year where he continued his service by founding the first LGBTQIA+ organization (SCSU Safe Space) on the campus and in the same year became the 11th Mister Honors College. That next year he would be elected the  6th Mister South Carolina State University. During his time at SCSU, he received his certification as a peer tutor in Physics, Math, English, and Biology.

He was also featured in New York Times publications as well as a CNN Correspondent during the 2019 Presidential Democratic Primary Elections. He created Readin’ & Ragin’ book club in the Spring semester of his Senior year to encourage others to immerse themselves in the world of literature (particularly during quarantine). This later evolved into a podcast and YouTube community that continues to grow with cultural commentary focused on continued learning, enlightenment, and understanding the human experience. It was at SCSU that Charles found his love for modeling and the creative arts. Charles graduated Cum Laude from South Carolina State University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.

He later continued his work with Microsoft as a Program Manager/Data Analyst for the 3rd consecutive summer as an intern. During this time, he realized his talents and skills would better be served in positions that were catered to creating real actionable change in the community, through education, arts, policy, and civil unrest and decided to go into business with this at the forefront. Charles continued his commitment to service by co-founding his entertainment company, JC3 Studios, as a Creative/Artistic Director with his partner Jeremiah McFadden in the summer of 2020, by continuing his tutoring efforts with children and young adults, and by revitalizing his parents' nonprofit organization CC1st, now CC1st Spin, with his brothers in the Fall of 2020.

Charles currently works as a Product Consultant with Salesforce and is continuing his mission of service to the overarching communities trying to create a better world around us. He is also in motion to create his own global nonprofit organization that services marginalized people in the areas of social justice (taking an unequivocal stance on defending black lives #BlackLivesMatter), health, education, the arts, and basic human necessities.
